What's up? How are you? What's new with me? WELL, my book, my first real book, Someone Please Have Sex With Me has debuted! First at MoCCA, then at TCAF. The good news is that it's been well-received, and that's nice and all, but the bad--and much more important--news is that no one has requested sex with me upon its release. I cannot stand for this. MoCCA 2016
Friday was the ALTCOMICS 2 reading in American Medium's backyard.
It was fun! I drank a lot of whisky!! Arguable too much. Yep, I was a messy lil bitch lmao!! But that's the secret to having a great, entertaining reading. I sure love getting shitfaced in front of an audience and all the confidence and adrenaline that comes with it. I read Manhunt, the new comic that appears in my book!
I love any opportunity to hang out with Julia Gfrörer. She is so nice and says really smart things about history/literature, and I could listen to talk to her forever! And meeting Sam Henderson was cool! I've been reading Sam Henderson's comics since I got my Nickleodeon Magazine subscription in like, 1997? He was really nice. And he shared a nude I tweeted! How wild is that!
We had a good time tabling at MoCCA! Here Sarah Ferrick and I are the 2dcould table. Sarah is wearing a cool choker.
This was the first time I saw my book IRL! I am so happy with Someone Please Have Sex With Me, and I hope everyone enjoys it!
I did a panel on Autobiography. It was awesome to be alongside Gabrielle, Nicole, and Jennifer! They are so talented !!

I met up with my friends Melissa and Chris. They are the sweetest, nicest people in the world, and they took me to this delicious restaurant in Crown Heights, Glady's.

I had pizza with Ana and Alessandra. Alessandra is my agent and very cool and going to make me very famous.

When I came back from NYC, I got to see JB for the second time.
It was thrilling to see him, to be in the same room as him, breathing the same air as him. My muse, my idol. Light waves that touched his skin directly reflected onto my eyes. Amazing. Still, I am started to get worried about him again. I was witness to his horrible, bad, no-good dread locks, the most atrocious thing he's ever done. I hope my bae is okay.
TCAF 2016
OMG TCAF WAS SO AWESOME! I drove with Andy Burkholder and Raighne.
I made an innocuous tweet about wanting weed--not expecting anything--but, several different people hooked me up, and for that, I am forever grateful.
ALTCOMICS 3 was fun. I read Someone Please Have Sex With Me. Again, I was so, so drunk. And I had technical difficulties going into my performance, so I had to do "crowd work" and tell jokes and anecdotes while I was half blacked out. But the good part was friend and hero Grant (aka HTML Flowers aka Mr. Flowers) offered to make out with me on stage, and the audience members who did not walk out were delighted! 10/10
Paola's book Virus Tropical is SO GOOD! I am so happy that my book is included with hers and MariNaomi's in 2dcloud's Spring Collection (Kickstarter coming soon!).

I got to hang out with famous Torontonian Kim. She is sooooo nice! She kept us fed and well-nourished our whole time in Toronto! She brought bottles of Soylent to our table and got us Canadian delicacies from Tim Hortons! She is super smart and knowledgeable about #comics and a delight to have around!
"Alessandra's children." Superstar Simon Hanselmann was nice enough to talk me a couple times throughout TCAF, and I was indeed starstruck!!!

I did a panel with Bill Kartalopolous and Anya Davidson at Quimby's to promote it.
The audience is hanging off our every word!!!

I have a new comic in the latest issue of Lumpen Magazine. It's called I'm Funnier Than Your Girlfriend, And I Have Fewer Sexual Limits: Let Me Make My Case. Apparently, Someone Please Have Sex With Me was not clear enough. Note to my family and future employers: this title is obviously a joke.* It's really silly, fun comic! Just kidding!! Ha ha!!!

SPX 2015
Last week, I got Kim Kardashian West's Selfish, a book of selfies. One thing I liked about it was that any time she takes a selfie with a friend (Paris, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige) they are basically props. Like, "hey check out me and my close friend having fun, but mostly look at me!!!!" It amused me. This influence is reflected in the following photoset of my time in North Bethesda, Maryland for the Small Press Expo.
Friday
I traveled with my 2d Cloud tablemates Sarah Ferrick and Andy Burkholder. O'Hare was nuts, and we came close to missing our flight. But everything ended up being ok!!! We met up with everyone else at the hotel and drank red wine.
Saturday
Tabling was great. But I spent a lot of time worrying about the Ignatz awards that evening. I was nominated for Promising New Talent and reeeeally wanted to win (duh!). I knew it was unlikely, but just in case I won, I saved the lyrics to "Believe" by Justin Bieber which I would read as my acceptance speech.
When I lost, I took pictures of myself crying to get pity from social media.
Eventually I drank enough red wine (stealthily consumed out of a coffee cup in public) that I was ok.
Bill Kartalopolous showed me the final print of The Best American Comics 2015 (out in October). Someone Please Have Sex With Me is in it. I'm very happy.
I met Julia Gfrörer! Julia is so hilarious and smart and COOL. I got to hang out with her a few times throughout SPX, and it was super fun!!!!!! She is the best, and Julia and Sean are such a handsome couple (#goals!)
Sunday
Tabling on Sunday was fun, too.
Look at how happy I am to meet Noah Van Sciver!! I've been a fan of his for a long time. I thought he had no idea who I was, but he bought Big Pussy and let me take a picture with him (and put his arm around me, hehehe). We talked some more later that night, and he gave me his pocket change that he didn't want to hold. What a thrill.
Most of Sunday night was spent drinking whiskey outdoors (er, bourbon whiskey) and in bathrooms with Jacq Cohen and Julia, henceforth known as team #PuffyLips.
One of the most exciting things to happen was briefly talking to Phoebe Gloeckner because she is my hero and #1 favorite artist and I love her!!!!! She even said she remembered the comics she got from me at CAKE 2013!
She is a SAINT for letting me ambush her like this (I was drunk).
Monday
Going into D.C. with Tom Kaczynski and Will Dinski
Met Clayton for some delicious lunch and strong beer. We got to catch up, and then he held my suitcase at his office for a few hours so I could sightsee.
I was trying to take a sneaky selfie with Tony Hawk at the National Portrait Gallery, and security yelled at me.
Exhausted as hell with Sarah while we wait to board our flight back to Chicago. Sarah made me laugh a lot the whole weekend and is good company.
VERY GOOD WEEKEND! I look forward to the next time I can go to SPX.
Big Pussyfooting
A few weeks ago, I finished a project for a company that sells shoes hand-painted by local artists, ShinVal. I painted fifteen pairs of shoes with panels from Big Pussy. By hand! This is priceless art!
Could I have drawn pictures of cats or Lunar Princess? Yes. But as a slave to my own narcissism, it's all images of my face (FUCK you, fictional cats). The shoes are mostly pink, just like Pussy.
Wouldn't you like to slip your foot in Big Pussy? The shoes also come with an autographed copy of Big Pussy! How can you beat that! You cannot!
